British Schools' Chess Championship

Chess Team Travel to Aston, West Midlands

On Saturday 20 April, the school Chess Team competed in the British Schools' Chess Championships at King Edward VI School, Aston. The team was seeded 14th by player gradings and finished 14th in the Championships, a great result.

A special mention must go to George Anderson, who top scored for the team with 3 points from his 5 games, particularly impressive as he was playing board 1, meaning he was playing the opposing schools’ strongest players.

Well done to all our students and Mr Rooney for taking the team to Aston.
