Vacancy - Student Support Assistant (Apprentice)

We are looking to appoint a Student Support Assistant (Apprentice) - Teaching Assistant Level 3

We are looking for somebody to:

  • Support students 1-to-1 in a classroom setting
  • Support students socially and emotionally through planned interventions
  • Key worker responsibility for designated students
  • Liaise with Form Tutors and Heads of Year to plan effective support
  • Support the universal provision of the student support team under the direction of the
  • SENCO 
Working Week Monday - Friday
Paid hours per week 32½ hours per week
Expected duration 18 months
Closing date 19 November 2021
Start date 4 January 2022

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with OFFICE 365
  • Experience of working/volunteering with young people
  • Awareness of Mental Health issues
  • Awareness of safeguarding duties (desirable)
  • Experience of providing personal care or willingness to be trained (desirable)

  • Level 3 Qualifications (A Level, BTec or equivalent) is highly

Future prospects Permanent position would be dependent on incoming students and
staffing needs
