We are looking to appoint an Active School Co-ordinator

Active School Coordinator – Sport and Physical Activity Coach
Salary grade NJC 5 (£21,575 per annum) pro rata
29 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
October 2023 - August 2024 (may be renewed subject to continued funding)

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our thriving Community Sport team. Are you passionate about supporting more young people to be more active, more often? Do you understand the power of an active school and how physical activity can improve attainment, wellbeing and society as a whole? Do you consider yourself to be a role model for children and young people? If so, you might be the person we want in our team!

Our team of Active School Coordinators is dedicated in its support of children achieving the Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines for daily physical activity. Candidates will have influencing skills in order to encourage the network of partner primaries to build a minimum of 30 minutes of school-based physical activity into every school day. This will be through the delivery of high-quality Physical Education lessons, active English/Maths curriculum interventions and excellent sport opportunities through extra-curricular activities.

The role covers delivery across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Some training will be provided alongside an expectation that the successful candidate will be committed to continuous professional development and personal reflection. A National Governing Body level 2 qualification is essential, although applicants will be considered if they are working towards one of these already.

This role is 29 hours a week. An annual leave allocation will be given and it is requested that this is taken during the school holidays to minimise disruption to our partners.

A typical week will be based a number of different primary settings and, due to the rural nature of the area, the successful applicant will be required to get themselves between sites. A mileage allowance is payable in addition to the salary.
