Respect and Reflection Mark Successful Year 9 Battlefields Trip

A recent Year 9 Battlefields Trip has been hailed a resounding success, with students praised for their maturity, curiosity and respectful conduct throughout the visit.
Travelling to historic sites in Ypres and the Somme, pupils had the opportunity to immerse themselves in key locations that shaped the course of the First World War. The trip provided a powerful extension to their classroom learning, allowing students to deepen their understanding of the conflict in a meaningful and memorable way.
From walking preserved trench systems to visiting solemn memorials and cemeteries, students engaged thoughtfully with the realities of life on the Western Front. The experience offered a poignant insight into the scale of the war and the sacrifices made by those who served.
