England internationals Ollie and Lewis Chessum returned to their old stomping ground recently when they visited Carre’s Grammar School. Joined by their Leicester Tigers teammate Jack van Poortvliet, they were on hand to help raise awareness of an ambitious national initiative launched by Gallagher to boost rugby participation in schools across the UK.
Kelly Hughes, Deputy Regional Director, together with RISE Advisor, LEARN Director Emily Walker, and CIT Chief Executive Officer Peter Bell, visited Carre’s Grammar School. They were welcomed by Executive Headteacher Nick Law, who led a tour of the school, spending time across classrooms.

Carre’s marked World Book Day with a whole host of fun, book‑inspired activities. Form groups kicked off the day with energetic literary quizzes, and just before lunch, the whole school took part in a special Drop Everything And Read session.
Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2026, Sixth Form students from Carre’s Grammar School have been immersed in discovering the diverse and prestigious pathways available through degree-level apprenticeships.
Our U18 basketball squad took to the court at the end of half-term for a friendly fixture against Boston Grammar School, proving that teamwork and conditioning positively affect the ability of the team to perform at its best.

As we close the door on January, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an exceptionally productive and inspiring month for our Sixth Form community. It’s been a whirlwind of academic planning, future-focused ambitions, and selfless community spirit.
We’re proud to announce that Carre's Grammar School has been recognised once again in the top 10% of all FFT schools nationally for attendance (2025–26).
